RUBBING STRIPS

Hello all I am new to this forum
Red polo 6n
What the best way to remove the black bump strips along the sides of my polo and what condition is the paint underneath
what would i need to do the bring it up to the rest of the paintwork
ie clean and shiny

Pretty sure there are clips holding the rubbing strips on, and holes in the door(s)/back quarter panels
So if you take off the strips, your gonna be left with holes that need welding up and a re-paint job
Not cheap

The MK4 (6N) strips are just stuck on, the MK5's (6N2) are clipped on.

Oh my bad (thought there was clips/holes on all cars)
In that case paint should be fine tho a little dirty, will polish up a treat once you get all that glue off

hairdryer (or hot air gun) and an old credit card.
You can also use the search function, this must have been asked a billion times by now
