Imperfection in my 9n paintwork

Hey guys, need some advice.

Today whilst I was inspecting my car I found this imperfection in the paintwork:

To me it looks as though it has been there since the car was manufactured. The car is on an 04 plate so is still covered by warranty, is this something I should try and get fixed under warranty and is it worth fixing at all?

Thanks!

Firstly welcome to the forum

Can't really tell what the imperfection is...is it like a small dent? Where abouts on the car is it?

Warranty would not cover paint imperfections im afraid.

Thanks Dino :)

It's the round white bit in the pic. It looks to me like it was a bubble of paint that has had the top knocked off it. It's located in the drivers side crease that goes along the edge of the roof, the ridge bit that channels water over the car rather than down the sides if you get what i mean.

I just assumed as it looks like something that was there when the car was new it would be covered by the warranty :?

know where you mean - very strange mark to have on the paintwork.

on a seperate note - how is your car after the Revo?

I had a feeling you'd ask, seen a few threads where you've mentioned you wanted to get it done :P

You can definitely notice the difference, the car pulls alot harder now, but it's still pretty sluggish when you first pull away. Once you get to a certain point though the car just pulls and pulls :D It's a great feeling getting forced into the seat :D Is it worth £400?, i'm not sure yet, i need to do some more testing but it's a nice upgrade if you have the money! Looking at getting the front brakes upgraded now as they didn't seem to stop me all that quickly the other day.

Looks like a spotweld, and maybe the paint has worn off where the car was polished after being sprayed.

Paint defects SHOULD be covered by warrenty infact it's normally the longest running warrenty a car has from new (normally 3, 6 or 12 years).

The body should be galvanised anyway, but if you can get VW to sort it out then why not, it's always better to have a good coat of paint on there.

There is a possibility it could cause a problem in future.
