Just filled up to a full tank, got back into car, the key wouldnt turn. Took it out tried it other way etc. Nothing. So i thought maybe its because I havent put the petrol cap on. So i got out clicked the cap again and the key went in and it started. However my dad says the petrol cap and closer wont have any electrics etc on it so that was just coincidence. So Ive no idea what was wrong with it. First time its done it. Happened to anyone else?

Sounds like you're running a copied key to me.

Have you tried pulling the key out slightly, or wobbling it about in the barrel?

Sorry what you mean the plug thingy or the petrol flap? Because I know on mine it does have an electric locking mechanism. Is like a metal spike. I only know because I catch my hand on it everytime i fill up. It may be that, or I may have missed the point altogether :D

sound more like the barrel is stick? is it stiff to turn now? if so try puting some wd40 down it as that'll help, if not possible that the steering lock wasn't in line to be relest if it happens again try moving the steering wheel and turning the key.
hope this helps
