the red beastie that was at VW NW and up for sale on ebay a while back.. what happend to it?
quality motor, wondered if it went to a good home or not!

i'm sure that guy was on here for a while aswell!! i think i saw the car at E38 and it looked pretty nice to me!!

Great car, and has some real good resoration work done on it, but I think it should have gone all the way - back to a G40.

could anyone tell me more about this - is this really factory make from vw motorsport? how many has been made, engines, etc.....

Yes it really is made by VW Motorsport, they were initially made as Polo GT G40 Cup cars to race in the series of the same name.
Due to their success in the 1300cc class world speed record, the car gained popularity and they made a limited batch of 500 cars for sale, most of which went straight to VW workers.
Even though the car above, i believe, doesnt have its original engine it should have a 1.3 Supercharged engine making around 110bhp, with uprated suspension.
