well i got some stick for showing you my interest in these alloys. but i bought them anyway!
ebay, 15" for £155. two have brand new tyres and 2 are good.
i think its a bargain.
plus...i get to drive 4 hours up to get them. then 4 hours back

which is fun

i know the 15 but not the 55 bit.
two are 55 and two are 45.
the guy on here with the really nice blue polo and alloys are 195/40/16

Good on you mate, if you like them, it doesn't matter what people think or say about them. And it is a good bargain off ebay, as you said.

195 = The tyre section width in millimetres
55 = The aspect ratio in % (the height of the sidewall divided by the tyre's width)
15 = Alloy Size

Haha, thanks for the compliment

. That's the tyre size, not the wheel size though.
You'll probably have to buy two new tyres in 195/45/15 size, so the aspect ratio doesn't throw the speedometer out.

Good buy for that price.
And to be honest there's a lot worse looking wheels out there, should look pretty good with 45 profiles all round.

Obviously it will have to be slammed eventually!

hmmm will it be that much of a prob then?
the speedo i mean with different tyres.
the guy says in his sales pich it will make the car sit well and seem "beefy"
i bet he could sell jonny's to a nun.
so come on, over all verdict on these.
the standard wheels on mine are 14" right?
and how is my car guna look with these on?
im thinkin mayb a little disapointing without it being lowered
so next question, how much am i looking at to lower it?
ha all this from the guy who was "happy" to keep his polo as standard

Verdict: good cheap buy, will suit the car IMO
Yes, your standard rims are 14". Remember that the 16v 100bhp, and GTi 125bhp models of 6n2 Polo were fitted with 15" rims straight out of Wolfsburg, on 195/45/15 tyres, so if you match this specification then...
[a] you will have no problems with your speedo calibration as the rolling radius is kept very very similar if not the same, and...
it won't look like it is on stilts!
The car shouldn't sit any higher or lower really, not noticeably at least, with the 15"s and correct tyres on.
Go for the 195/45 tyres and you'll be laughing
Cheers

well mine is a standard polo E model.

thanks

No you'll be fine mate, but i think you will find it will need the lowerage as 16vs and GTis come out the factory with slightly lower suspension than "non-sporty" models...

My 9n's got 50/35 eibach sportline springs and ive found these are good to sit the car nicely on the rims - i found i wanna slam it more now tho and will prob get coilies at somepoint.
Also you can pick em up new for bout £120 or 2nd hand for less

Lowering isn't that necessary, to be honest. It should look pretty good, considering how my car looked when it had 15" wheels and stock suspension:
Although, I do have some fairly new H&R lowering springs for the 6N2, that'll lower it nicely, which you can have for £90 delivered.
