Im a newbie but have been on here for about a month now, i think this site is fantastic, BIG up to you all!

My Polo is specced as below, wanna do loads more to it but money has been tight and its going slow

98 polo 1.4 CL

15's dtm style wheels (not lowered yet) Need advice on how low to go with no probs( running 195/50) wanna go 60mm, what do you think?

main feature is ICE

2 x12" alpine type r subs running off kenwood class d monoblock 1800 w

with db audio 6x9s on stealth shelf and jbl components up front runnig off 4 channel 1000w amp

Alpine cda9812-rb head unit

All i can say is its Effing loud!!!

sounds as tho u know what ur talking about when it comes to the ICE

with regards to the lowering, 60mm should be fine but i would recommend getting 195/45s otherwise u may get a fair amount of scrubbing!!
with 45s, the tyre is more low profile and therefore shouldn't cause too many scrubbing issues!! (this is what the majority of people with 15s have)

Mines lowered 60mm and its fine, (195/45/15) tho i have got 45mm profile tyres!

Im thinking about getting the a 12" type-R! what model is yours? does it real kick? whats bettet type-R or type-S?

was gonne go the full wack and get a type-x system, bought the front componet speakers, sold em now, gonna wait till i can afford it all!

any body wanna tell me how to get pics up, i really dont know how to!

i got two type r subs cant remember model number i think its 1241d but they are dual voice coil versions, they are 1000w each. got thewm running off a class d monoblock putin out 1800w!

i dont think i even need two subs as one is proper loud, but i had them from my old merc 190e, was too much hassle to sell and rebox!

some F**k*r robbed the front panel of my head unit last week and its a pain trying to get another one as cosxts 140.00 from alpine. been looking on ebay and no one is selling just the front panel.

anyone seen the suspension kits that are for sale on e-bay includes shock and spring for 125.00

also ss manifold for 1.4 8v polos, supposed to increase power!


the type s are only 600w from what i can remeber, but the type r is definately better.

might have to invest in a type-r then.

I bought the suspension kit off ebay, lowers it 60mm, it cost me £150/160 in total, that included £28 P&P even tho the bugga only lived 8miles from me and would not let me collect it.
the kit is good, really does slam the car, i actually think its lower than 60mil!

Is the springs and shocks your on about got a link to clubpolo? If so thats PhilJ and I'm thinking of getting me a set. Check out clubpolo because its cheaper because he aint gotta pay ebay fees.
