My insurance say they don't have my alarm system in their list of alarms... it's a scorpion alarm + immobiliser that was fitted by vw as standard.
how the hell am i meant to prove my car has an alarm + immobiliser? I sent them the vw / scorpion booklet with the alarm details but that wasn't enough apparently

Park it outside their office's and leave the alarm go off for a few hours, they'l prob reliese itdoes have one then. This could work so long as they aint moved it to some far-east country like most call centers.

alarm certificate? try sending the booklet, manuals, certificate (if installed professionally) basically just try sending them any documents you have realted to the alarm. surely that should be enough proof.
obviously the certificate being the most important

just lie!
do it online and selct one of the alarm and immobilisers they do list.
then if your car gets nicked and they say you have a different alarm you can just say "prove it

"

ask them how they want you to prove it and what would be the acceptable documentation.
it might be that your local garage or approved repairer for the insurer would sign a letter stating that the alarm existed.

well i went to checkpoint, this ripoff merchant in aberdeen, as they are approved scorpion fitters, but they whined they arent VI something something approved scorpion fitters so cant provide a certificate, then tried to flog me some s**t immobiliser, i was just like cheerio you retard.
i then phoned my local garage, who's owner is a legend, and he said tell him the specs of the vehicle etc and he'll type up anything i want him to type up lol, problem solved

why didnt you tell them that your car as a factory alarm and immobiliser!!
an after market alarm will only reduce your premium by about 5% if that anyway even if its a clifford or toad or other high end alarm
