Is it possible to paint alloy wheels and get a good finish that will last? Ive bought some cheap ones off ebay and wondered if i could rub them down and paint/spray them?

Powder coating too expensive for these wheels, i'd rather buy new!

ai tis dooable, am doing my steelies in gloss black atm, am not after a quality finish tho so its easier.

just take your time, rub down with around 400 grit wet and dry paper and prime it with filler primer. rub down again with 600 grit and water. then apply two or three coats fo top coat, again rub down once its dry with 1200 grit wet n dry and water then apply two or three coats of laqcuer, rub down after letting the lacquer set for at least 24hours with the faithful 1200 grit and water then use normal car polish to buff it up to a shine!

Thanks very much!

I'm not looking for an immaculate finish, as I may be doing them black anyway, but as good as poss!

Cheers!
