hi guys

i need some help deciding on what route to go down with my new head unit

i've just brought my G40, the stereo in it is useless so i'm gonna get a new head unit.

Originally i always just thought i'd buy a headunit with an ipod interface so i could connect that up and that was simple.

Whilst browsing though i stumbled accross USB HU's which i'd not seen before, seems to be able to just plug in a flash drive and your away which i like the idea of as my ipod is only a 1GB so means i can have more songs.

Door number 3 seems to be an external hard drive which i never really considered affordable but here it is...

i like the concept of the hard drive but i've heard a few problems with this system e.g scan times for the HU and drive to sycronise the files, plus my car has a pretty rough ride with the lowering kit so i'm hesitant about the mechanical bits holding up to the bumps

any help would be much apreciated as i'm a bit clueless when it comes to ICE

had a look on there and the hard drive option seems pretty good to me, so i think i'll have to treat my new car to a new HU & hard drive combo when i get paid next month
