MK5 Polo 15s or 16s? Lowering? And the correct ET for 16s?

Hi all

New on here and must say its a forum full of info.
Image
Picked up a 1.4 mk5 polo 6n2 and looking at some rims and lowering possiblities.
Ive come across two sets of alloys which i like:
16 Keskin KT4s or
15s Rondell 0058s

On the Rondell 15s they come in one size for the polo 7x15 4x100 et35
Im swaying more to the 16 keskin kt4s as they have the more deep dished euro look, the 0058 only have a 2inch deep dish because of its et35.

The keskin comes in 7.5 or 9. Guessing 9 would be too wide? Also in a et30 or et25. Would et25 give me a bigger deep dish?

Also lowering it, if i go for the 16s how low would i go with the et25? would it be better off for the cheaper option to go for springs and suspension, or pay the 295 for the evo coilovers?

Guessing will be able to get around 80mm with the 15s with a 195/45 ?

Cheers
Adam

on 15's with 7j rims on with 195/50 i had arch rub, Et is 28 standard for VW so i would stick with that, only get a lower ET if you have deep dish rims mate, then they look phat 8)

Eh?? i'm pretty sure thats not true! Think its nearer like 40-45.

Could be wrong like, but i know for a fact the GTI is like 45 and i dont think the lower specs ones are gonna be wider!!

I thought the lower models were 30 something, didn't think they're as low as 28 :?

They prob are et28, on a 5j rim. On anything wider thats nuts. The gti rims (6.5j i think) are et45.

The lower et 9's mat well have a deeper dish, but at most its 5mm, and i'd rather the rims sat 5mm further in in all fairness. 9" at the back of a polo is crazy, it WILL scrub, lots.

I had 7.5x16's all round and it needed a little arch bending but was ok after lower 100mm.

Either go for 15x7's et35 (These'll fit perfect) or 16x7.5 all round et35. As said these would prob need a little arch work at the back if you wanna go real low.

Oh, and get coilovers, there great fun

^^he talks sense and it doesnt matter what size the rim is, it will always be ET28 standard, and yeahhhhh coilovers are the way forward, had great fun with mine haha
