CD player problem

Yesterday i tried removing my cd player it was working fine, just wanted to remove it, it would only come halfway out so i tugged it and it sounded like a wire came out at the back, the light (on the roof of inside my car) flickered for a split second then it was fine anyway i tried turning the cd ploayer on and it wouldnt turn on. Anyway i pulled it out and a thin red wire was hanging loose., all the others looked fine. So i figured that was the reason it wasnt working. anyway i tried the red wire in each terminal and the cd player still wouldnt switch on. HELP?
