newbie - servicing help

Post by texmkr »

Hello all,
I'm a newbie and was wondering if any body out there could help. I'm looking for a good recommendation for any VW specialist garages in the either Leeds or Bradford (I live in Morley). I recently took my polo to JCT in Bradford for them to look at my brakes as they felt really spongy and they said they were fine, they had driven the car and checked the pads, etc and the brake fluid. They did find a problem with the wishbone bushes and said that this would cost about £200 to replace due to the amount of time it would need to replace them - 3 hours!! My polo (1.4 CL R reg) is also due for a service at the end of the month. Can any body suggest a decent specialist garage instead of a main dealers please.

Many, many thanks

Be better to put it in the MKIV or MKV section mate which ever your model is, this is more for Forum questions :D

That way you should get some recommendations 8)

Judging by your description I would say you have a mk4 Polo, aka 6n model. I've moved your post into the right spot so that you get the help you need 8)

Welcome to the club!

Re the brakes, do you know the last time your brake fluid was changed? Fresh fluid often helps to sharpen up the responsiveness of the brakes I find, should be done every couple of years according to the service schedule for the newer Polos...

Cheers

Hello again,
thank you for the replies. the brake fluid was changed a year ago by JCT600 (or Dixons as it was- which is another pain as I think JCT600 don't really honour any previuos work done by Dixons!). Will keep an eye out in the other sections.

Many thanks,
