Got an Ibiza with the in-built cd player and aircon etc (if you know what i mean), anyway, not been bothered about havein subs in it since i got the car (over 2 years ago), but now i want my old subs in, but the problem is that i don't have any phono outputs or even a remote wire back there.

I've been told by plenty o folk that i could use the ignition wire in place of the remote wire. Which sounds understandable, buut my problem is that one lad at work said to get phono outputs i need to convert my speaker wire into phono outputs with "splitters"

Well i've checked ebay in the car section and consumer electronics and searched for "splitters", and all that i get is converting one m connector to 2 f connectors ( or something along those lines) either way there isn't a single output back there to use these "splitters"

Anyway (for those who've taken the time in readin this), what is the solution to my problem?

it can be done mate theres a thing in maplin that converts a speaker level signal into a line level signal, meaning u have a audio sorce goin to amp on rca leads, (tryed to find product on maplin site but canny see it) it only cost £10 at the most. it has wires that ur speakers cables connect to and also a positve and neg cables to supply it with power. some amps also come with built in high level inputs usally u see 4 bare pins which u would need to get a phonex connector to plug into this. now to get the power to the amp u would run the power lead as normal from bat to amp but u can also attach the remote cable into the fuse holder on this cable and run it too the amp too but u will need to put a small switch on this remote cable or ur batt will be dead everytime u leave ur car turned off for a while cause the amp will be draining ur bat,
if u have anyproblems just pm me and a can help u out if this is not clear

cheers for that mate. pretty much makes sense. can understand what your sayin, just need to find a place where i can get the correct wiring form now.

went to a local RRD (Road & Rally Distribution) other week and they reccomended not doing it because of the possibility of blowing up my amp, but i think they wa talking of another way of doing it!
