Hi
Parked my car tonight and thought I would quickly do a check of my lights as it was dark and I turned on my rear fog ones and it looks like i only have a rear right fog which is working.

Is it pretty easy to change the other one?? or am I being ignorant and actually only have one rear fog light? lol someone told me that it is possible although I would have thought 2!

Im pretty sure its 2 as I have checked before

Sorry if I am sounding completely dumb!

Cheers

is it quite fiddly to change one of the rear lights if need be? the front lights seem fairly awkward especially the front left

The front lights are a bastard to change. The bumper needs to come off

The rear lights are an absolute peice of p***, couple of screws

Oh right easy as that!
I had to have a front right one changed and that was just a case of shifting the battery a little no problem.
I didnt think you needed to drop the bumper on the MKV

Bloody VW lol

No screws involved if you're only changing bulbs

The bulb holder just unclips from each side and it's as easy as that :D

Cool cheers gonna have to bear it in mind in the future
I didnt think they would be that hard to change. Not as fiddly as the front anyway

no need to take the front bumper off to change a front bulb, i think this only applies to Gti's

i took my bumper off to change the whole headlight, may not be the case when it comes to changind bulbs, not too sure on that one.

I know on some VW's especially some of the golfs you have to take off the bumper!
Theres not a lot of space at all in the GTI is there? It still looks pretty fiddly to do the front left one.

God knows how much it would cost for a proper VW garage to change a bulb? Anyone took it to one? lol

Yep, it costs quite a bit

Under £100 though, that's on a GTi anyway.

They charge sumin like 60 quid an hour dont they?
So would prob be about an hours labour and the cost of a bulb + vat lol

Pretty crazy! Do most people on here go to VW garages for servicing or to other reputable garages?
