COLD START PROBS

Post by POP »

I have a 1.9 diesel 1999 T Reg, and having probs starting from
first thing in the morning. I have replaced glow plugs and coolant sensor.
I think the only thing left on this system is the glow plug control unit.
Does anybody have an ideas or have this problem ?

have you checked if the battery needs charging or if the alternator is charging the battery sufficently?

Thanks for reply. You could be right i'll try recharging battery.
i also noticed that , whist engine was running , there were air bubbles
in the supply line to fuel pump. The engine seems to run ok without
spluttering or misfiring. Whats that all about? I always thought diesel
were supposed to be air free!

there shouldnt be any air in the fuel lines, on the bmw there is an inline filter and pump, to stop this not so sure on the veedubs tho.
