Does anyone know if all the models had the heated electric mirrors?? Need a mirror and iv found one on the bay, but he hasn't stated what model etc it is from, so it may be from the 1.0litre. which i am not sure if they are heat and leccy compatible.
Someone put up a link for the spec of all the models, but i cant find it.
I need to know a definite answer by tomoro night, so hopefully the 1litre boys can fill me in as to whether they are electric and heated.
Cheers folks!!!

My mirrors are electrically adjustable, but I'm pretty sure they're not heated.

Are you sure oli??
cos its impossible to tell by just looking at them. The mirror heater is operated through the rear window heater. The only way to really properly see is by having condensation on your mirrors and then putting your rear window heater on. Is yours just the 1litre Ol???

Yeah, I have a 1.0L E. I'm sure they aren't heated, as I've had my rear window demister on for the last couple of weeks, and I haven't noticed any condensation on the mirrors.
I reckon it was an option on the lower spec models (E and S), such as the 'winter pack', maybe. And was standard on the models after SE. Heated washer jets were the same too.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that when the airflow is switched to front windscreen, the mirrors will heat up. This is only applicable to models with electrically adjustable mirrors, coz i know its on mine! 1.0E

When they are heating up on a cold morning, you get steam coming from the back of the mirror, as its heating the ice/condensation off.
if in doubt read the manual i think its in there somewhere
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Alex

Nearly Alex
It's when you put the rear screen on that the mirrors heat up.

Not too sure to be honest mate. Only found out about mine after clearing the rear screen one day then thinking, hang on a minute, I couldn't see anything in the mirrors a minute ago and now they're crystal clear

The only reason i found out was my smashing into my mirror and me seeing there was a heater matrix
I'v spied a black gti one anyways so just gonna go for that.
