Noticed alot of you are aged between 17-25, I'm turning 30 this year but then my insurance is relatively cheap.

What you guys paying?

My policy is with Directline, I live in Middlesex.
Polo Sport 1.9pd tdi (Standard)

£320 fully protected with no claims protection.

Just curious

Don't feel bad, I'm joining the 25-and-over club this month. How do those youngsters get new Polo's anyway?

Yeah tell me about it, my first car was £500 worth of VW Derby. Quality motta though.

Yeah boys how do you finance these cars?

I traded my Golf V5 in for my Sport with a bit of cash on top.

Des,

You're not alone - I'm 28 (Directline = 380 (with mods declared))

What kind of gets me is, I've only just reached the stage in my career where I could afford a new car. Something tells me I made the wrong choice somewhere...

Deek.

Generous parents I guess. Mind you, getting staff discount on the car does help. 8)

Our company discount is a generous 5% Which the customers ebb away at anyway, so in reality I paid normal price, however I've been quoted £60 for a first service. The warning light has now come on  Car says it'll need it at 9,300 miles, only a 1,000 to go...

Notice a few of you are with Direct Line, they're quite competitive. But one of its subsidiaries is Tesco insurance and Direct Line are trying to promote them. That means cheap premiums, if insurance in this country can ever be classed as cheap.
I'm just about to renew my insurance today with Tesco for £261. Admittedly, my Polo's only a 65bhp 1.2 and I'm now on my third decade but - and this is for the benefit of all the pretty ladies out there - it goes like the clappers and so do I. Boom, boom

Oh dear, 12-valve - have we got ourselves a "mungo" ala the pistonheads gassing station?

Deek.

I'm 29 and paying £330 with Eagle Star Direct, 5 years no claims. The TDi is £200 cheaper than my old MkV Polo GTi!

The most i've spent on insurance was £880 for a brand new Golf GTi 2.0 8v when I was 23.

Leonsmith, do you have the gold policy? I'm with eagle star and paying 400 with 5 years no claims and protected. My Golf V5 was 700!
