just brought a mk4 which has been lowered but has standard 13" steels.looking to get some 14 or 15" alloys but wanted to know if putting bigger wheels on will close the gap anymore between tyre and arch or if it will still be the same

i dont know how much its been lowered really,i would say 30-40mm.i quite like the idea or 14" alloys, rather than 15" i think look to big although it would close the gap up more.so how does it work.if i put 14 on it will close the gap a inch and 15" alloys would close the gap 2" and so on?

Really depends on tyre size aswell...
(For axample I have 15" wheels with 175/45/15 and have 13" which are 175/75/13 and the 13" wheels are actually a little bigger than my 15s due to tyre size)

yeh its down to your tyre size aswell....usually they will all, if you get alloys within reasonable size, will be approximately the same size if you keep the rolling radius as similar as standard as possible, but that is mainly down to your tyres.
