my Polo smelllls

ever since lastnight i can constantly smell exhaust fumes inside my polo mk4. 42k miles. I havent been driving like a looney or anything, but it just started smelling. whats going on!

exhaust blowing? Perhaps around the manifold?

its a common problem. sometimes the crankcase breather tube pops off the airbox and thats why you smell the fumes.

if you unbolt your airbox you will see a small tube on the left hand side and should be connected to the bottom of the airbox. connect them up and your problem is gone.


if you have an after market induction kit say CDA induction that doesnt have a hole for the breatehr pipe to re route the fumes back into the engine you need a breater filter and route it away from the firewall towards the front of the engine bay ( out of the air flow) and you wont smell no nasty exhausty smells.

some times mine smeels, and my mechanic mate told me that its the CAT that does it :D
