Right after having a few months of my polo looking at me in the face and screaming fix me.
I've decided im gunna get get it fixed. but im still gunna be getting the cupra. gunna be buying little bits on the side for the polo.
quite a big list of things to do on the polo but will need help sourcing these parts, well the ones i can remember anyway,, so here goes.
Gearbox
drive shafts
track rod arms
Need new front discs.. and replace handbrake and rear drums. calipers and such.
Cv joints.
all suspention bushs
other joints and everything behind the brakes on the passenger side.
think thats about it, engine is running fine, and had a new clucth about 150 miles before the incident , thou i havnt started it up for a few months..
On a budget, so any money saving ideas on parts + fitting, or links to parts. anything will be aperciated
oh its a 1.3 l

abit of a list
I can only comment on the gearbox which i ahve just had to buy for my 1.4 16v and that cost me £468 to get a new one build for me.
But i am sure you might be able to pick one up from a scrappy aswell as the other parts.
Hope it helps

Hmmm... a lot of things to do there... gearbox is a pricey fecker... you're looking at something close to a grand easily IMO

I would advise you to cost everything carefully before you start buying parts.
Also, if you're planning to do it all yourself, what about tools? They mount up pretty quickly. Think about how much time each job is going to take - if you haven't got much experience, I suggest you make an estimate and then double it; that's what I did (still do, if it's a job I haven't done before).

A grand??? For the gearbox? Wont be anywhere near that! More like £400.
As for the other parts, id get down to the scrappies......you'll quite easily get all them for relatively cheap! I think your costs are going to come down to the fitting if your not doing it yourself.

Ah got yi my man, just misinterpreted. If your fitting the gear yourself then i dont think it'll be anywhere near a grand. I'd Roughly say about £800. Maybe, could spiral tho so watch yourself! I got a reconditioned box for £330 or somethin and its been absolutely perfect. Very smooth. Its basically a new box as it will have had a full overhaul. Have faith my man!

I have some faith. my currant gearbox's acutlly works.. but where the cv joint and drive shaft snapped.. in snapped inside the thread in the gear box... so cant put new ones in as heres bits still in the holes.
I live in bristol. and how can you sort the gearbox for 150?
