That's the best way I can describe it.
Drove from Kent to Bristol over the weekend and when in Bristol, after roughly 3 hours of drivin (with a couple of breaks) the car started to jerk & lose power whilst doing between 50-70mph.
Basically felt as though I was tapping on and off the accelerator and causing the jerkiness. This would happen for a minute or so then subside, & then maybe re occur again at all different speeds.
Almost felt like there was a blockage & power wasn't getting through somewhere.
The problem comes and goes quite a bit. Maybe every few weeks or so & particularly after a fair amount of driving. Only mod engine wise is a cat back exhaust from longlife.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

I'm thinking of giving the throttle body a good clean up, what would you suggest using?
Anything else I could try sort myself?

Thanks for any help,

Chris

Sounds like fuel isnt getting through.

Definately clean the throttle body. Try getting some of that VAG fuel additive too

mine did this, they replaced the "speed" sensor.... that may have been interpreted for lamens terms by the way. Mine was significantly worse though, it would do this about 3 times a day & the car would ofen stall even whilst moving, followed by engine management light

yes sounds like the throttle body or the fuel isnt getting to the engine.
