Creaking noise

My GTi has started making a creaking noise from the clutch pedal, it's only for the last few inches of travel, anyone have any ideas what it could be?
I'm thinking it might be the pedal box, but a mechanic mate reckons it's probably the clutch itself, if it is I'm gonna get a sachs one, anyone have a part no.?

Off the top of my head I think Euro Car Parts can supply the Sachs clutch kit.

Theres been a fair few threads about it before, so it might be worth having a quick search unless anyone else knows the part number :)

I've got a sachs clutch in my GTi. I can 120% recommend one. I payed £98 including postage from Europarts. The clutch was actually £88 but £10 for postage. The sachs clutch looks alot stronger and beefier than the standard VW one

It was £94 from the stealers, all in. I could have got it done cheaper but needed the car urgently so vw done it in an hour

Got a sachs clutch today from ECP, a mate is fitting it next week, gonna replace the cable at the same time, Car has done 50k on the original clutch so must be on its way out.
Thanks for the help.
