Installing Amp Power Cable?

Hi All,

If anyone has been able to install a power lead from the battery to the rear of their 9N polo would it be possible to stick up a walkthrough with Photos?

I've tried to get my Amp wired up at several places and I don't like the idea of them drilling holes in my Chassis, but they have all told me that there is no other way to do it because of the way VW have sealed the engine off from the rest of the car...

Many thanx Guys!

Yep been there, done that

As you look into the engine bay, on the right hand side, just above (i think) the ABS unit, there is a rubber grommet. Use this. It will come out in the passenger foot well - up high.

Hope this helps.

I can get some pics if you want - but it won't be until Friday now.

Few pics.... They're not the best, but it should give you an idea as to where to find it.
Pics also show where it comes out in the footwell.

lol @ Mike_T

Ok, after going outside and having another look, I've remembered what I did 18 months ago!
There was no way that the power cable was going through the grommet with that black cable so I drilled a hole right next to it and fed the cable through there. Put some rubber tubing around the cable first (to stop any shorts if the insulation wears through) and then siliconed it up.

So there you have it - not quite what you thought  But it's a way....
