ok so i recently wrote off my polo mk4 1.4CL, im now looking for a replacement and have seen a very tidy looking 1 litre polo mk5, its great value for money, especially considering its low mileage and i can tell whoever owned it before has looked after it.

BUT the 1 litre part is putting me off, i kinow there wont be much difference when it comes to driving round town, but i work away alot, and sometimes need to carry 4 passengers down the M1.

What kind of speeds can i expect out of this? would it be slow or what? i really have no idea.

yeh, they are slow, its only my 1st car so i cant judge against any other litres, but all my mates have 1.4's, and they kill my 1.0

ive got a 1.0 (hence the name) mk 4 and it is quite slow.

Its a wiked wee go cart with just me in and up to 50 can seem quite quick, dont ask me how lol. But with more than one person in i can tell the difference straight the way.

If your going to be travelling with passengers often then id steer clear, the slowness will only get on your nerves.

yeh with passangers it is quite embarressing, cause you can have your foot on the floor in every gear and it stil takes time to build up to 30

never had a problem with my 1.0,

yer its kinda slow, but keeps up easily with saxo 1.1's clio 1.2's etc

depends how you drive your car really... i hardly ever race around and my car suits me perfect, super cheap to run but still sexy

benji-d knows the score lol

yea, there not too bad with no extra weight as the gearing is really quite low, 2000rpm in 4th gear at 30mph

think of it this way,,, £10 petrol in 1 litre will go a long way :)

I have a 1.4 and I can make £10 last the week...

Depends really on how much the slowness will bug you...
