Group buy srt up on Briskoda at the moment for the Jabba rear ARB's, a good saving for anyone looking for a handling improvement.
I'm defo getting one.
You'll prob need to register on the forum to see the page, but its £190 inc vat and delivery, so a saving of £30 odd quid, well worth it.

I'm not mechanically minded so do forgive me but, what does it actually do/used for?

From what I've read over at Briskoda, it turns a mildly understeering car into a scary lift-off-oversteer car.
That said, it's meant to make cornering more fun... If you can deal with snappy oversteer, especially in the wet.

maybe you get lift off oversteer if your an twitchy or in-adiquate driver or have the rear set much higher than the front creating an instability, my polo's rear end does not step out it just sits firmer and more solid, also does not snake out under particularly hard braking
it does exactly what the name indicates, it reduces roll, and quite considerably too, coupled up with coilovers like mine is its quite a weapon in the dry now round the bends too,

Im sure that coupled with the coilovers, the rear swaybar would make good sense, but i think that the standard gti's softish front end, combined with a stiff rear end would make things interesting on the grip limit...best to upgrade the front at the same time, or better still like jeff gti, get coilovers and hold up the corners of the car properly.. which is what i plan to do!

I've got H&R coilovers on mine and I'm going to transplant them onto the Ibiza when I get it...
I might check out one of these ARB's in this case (I don't think anyone I've spoken to off Briskoda who has one also has coilovers).
Thanks for clearing that up.
