conteplating polo gti, couple of questions

hi all,
i'm thinking of getting a new polo gti, and wondered whether anyone could answer a couple of questions:
1. is the engine the 1.8 20v with the K03 turbocharger or the K03 sport turbocharger? the reason i ask is because with the K03 sport you can rechip the engine to ~190bhp (i used to have a golf anniversary and that had the later engine). if the engine has only the K03 fitted you can't rechip it to that high.
2. i have a set of brand new BBS RS301 17" wheels, 5 x 100 pcd, i think they're 7.5 x 17". will these fit on the polo gti? will they rub at all?
Thanks in advance!

1. Yes, apparently the engine is fitted with the K03s turbo. WIth the Oettinger/APR stage 1 chip it runs at about 1.05Bar (15psi) to make 190ish hp, still within the reliable operating limits of the turbo...or so im told
2. I think so yes, provided the offset is ok... Im sure there are 9n owners on here with that size that can clarify.

hi guys, that makes me feel a lot better!
I remember when I had my 1.8T golf anniversary, you could get a dealer-approved chip that would not invalidate the warranty, which i might try and find out about again.
are you not worried vW will invalidate your warranty if it needs to go back for anything?
thanks for your answers guys

mine has been in before and they never batted an eyelid, the service manager said its in their interests to work on the car as vw pay for warrenty work regardless

About your chip, I have a black box that has my standard file and modified file on it so if car needs to go in, can change back to standard takes about a minute or so.

I think with certain remaps (certainly at a place in Aberdeen) they are undetectable by VW

yeah, thats the case with the apr remap, its undetectable to a vw diagnostic machine and even if vw reset your ecu it stays remapped as it uploads vw's standard map, says its uploaded successful, then as the ignitions switched to on, deletes it and reverts to apr software
clever stuff
