tyre question

im looking at getting some new rubber for the polo, at the moment im runnin 195 45 r16 tyres but i want 40 profile ones does it make a difference whether its 195 or 205 could somebody explain because im getting very confused!!!

195 and 205 is the width of the tyre. You really don't need a 205 width tyre and you may well experience rubbing on the arch liner/suspension strut with that width.

195 (width) / 40 (profile) / 16 (rim size) is what you need.
