1.4TDI SE PD - Whats it worth?

A 3dr 2000 w reg, with just under 40,000 miles on it. FSH, All usual extras. Excellent condition. 3 owners from new.
Parkers says its worth 3k privately, with 60k average. Do you reckon its worth more as they seem quite rare and this one has low mileage? If so how much do you reckon?
Has anyone bought similar and have a rough guide what a similar car is worth etc..
Any info & opinions would be good....

Id say maybe 3500 ish maybe a little more

If it was a VW dealer itd be closer to 4k!
Cheers,

i reckon its worth slightly more as it is a diesel, more sought after... but then again I might be being slightly biased!

True diesels often fetch a bit more - and the low mileage is a plus

Im actually looking to buy the one in question, not sell!
The guy has advertised it for £4600 which even with the miles seems overpriced.
I guessed I would consider offering 4k at an absolute max as they do seem quite rare but even this seems like too much really.
Just seems hard to find a decent 3dr with low miles at the moment.
One sold on trader for 5k recently, a Y reg with 30k on it! Was from a fourcourt though not a private sale!
Might try and get the guy down to under 4k or walk away....

The guy is on dreamland if he thinks he can get anywhere near 4600. Thats GTI money we are talking about here. I'd definitely get him to at least 3800 or so.
