has anybody painted the stripe on their gti grille? if so could you talk me through what you did before you sprayed it, any prep work etc!

and some pics of the final result would be awesome!!!

*update* have got my new grill and tried to mask it off today but got to angry with it and almost threw it at something very hard, but managed to clam myself and keep it in tact!

if anybody sprayed there grille stripe can they give me some advice on how they did it please!!!!!!

All I'd do is mask off the bits I didn't want sprayed, rub the 'strip' with a bit of wet and dry to score it, primer it (couple of coats making sure it's touch dry between each one), paint it (again, couple of coats making sure it's touch dry between each one), maybe lacquer it, then job done :D

I haven't done it myself, but that's the way I'd do it.

Pretty straight forward job, if you managed to spray your front badge then it'll be a walk in the park. :D

Do you mean like this?????

If you do..... then you don't need to paint it......... Just go to Halfrauds and buy a roll of red side lines for about 2 quid and stick it on....... Mine was on for over a year before i sold the car and still looked like new. If you take your time putting it on it still only takes about 5-10 minutes.
