Sorry if its a bit daft question or if am meant to know this but I dont hence am asking you guys....

I have a 1.4 S 75bhp '03 9n and the engine plate (the thing on the engine which says VW 1.2 or 1.4 or whatever) is missing and Im not sure if its a 16V or not Can anyone shed any light on this Cant find any reference to 16V anywhere in the paperwork so I dont know

Also those of you with a 1.4, what sort of mileage do you get out of it say with £10-£20 worth of unleaded petrol I normally get say 70-75miles say from a tenner,just wondering if thats about right?

It has 16 valves... however it's not the sport that represents its self as having 16v.

i am a 1.4 owner on a 9n3 tho, and mine is the 80 not the 75.

I usually get about 170 miles to £20, and i am also heavy on my right foot.

You asked if yours has 16 valves I'm saying yes it does basically and that I managed to find this information out by using the technical infomation on the profile of a 2002 Polo 1.4 S on www.parkers.co.uk
