I have replaced my standard gamma headunit with a jvc one but now i have to unlock the car manually with th key. help?

im havin exactly the same problem on my 2000 gti

I'm lead to beleive this is something to do with the immobiliser thats built into the standard head units. I read about a wire convertor somewhere, but cant remember when or where
