I've got 256MM brembo discs now, but im looking for 280MM brembo ones. I've had a price off GSF just wondering if anybody know anywhere cheaper? GSF have quoted me £25+VAT per disc. I think thats a reasonable price, but if I can cheaper I will. Im doing the 280MM brake conversion, would standard 280MM discs do or go for brembo grooved ones? I want to get as much stopping power as I can. I wouldn't mind doing the 312MM conversion but im not changing my wheels to 16's. I hope 280MM discs will do. Cheers

Is there much of an improvement or just a small noticeable difference?

Did you put the G60 calipers on or leave the GTI ones? Sorry for all the questions

I left the the standard GTi callipers on, and yes there is a very noticeable difference. feels like what it should of been. But it wont take the air out of your lungs if thats what your looking for.

Here mine with Black Diamond disks and pads

Standard calipers as they are the same, just got some carriers & painted them red, look ok but need to clean & touch up all my calipers. (was more of a necessity to get the brake on than a luxury of brakes on & paint the calipers at the same time).

I had my carriers bead blasted and powder coated when I got them.

Luckily I had to time to clean my calipers when I was fitting the 280's so they're all nice and clean now. Look great behind the 16's.

how much did bead blasting and powder coating your callipers cost you? I wanna do this too but only one place near me that'll do it so i wanna know a rough price as to haggle with them abit!

p.s. any chance of pics of the powder coated callipers??

In terms of price, I'm lucky enough to know someone through my Father who does all the powder coating work for his company, so I didn't pay anything to have the carriers done! Off the top of my head I think a ballpark figure of £50 was mentioned.

But that was only for the carriers, I didn't have the calipers themselves powder coated as they were in pretty good condition. I'll get some pics of how they look later anyway.
