Hi, I own a GTi which has been lowered and took it to VW for a service 2day and the brake flexi hose on the drivers side has signs of rubbing..
It hasn't rubbed through yet but VW have advised me to get it changed.

Has any one else had problems with this?

Any help on how to stop it please!?

Yeah mine are doing exactly the same thing. Just buy two new ones and when there fitted tell the garage to secure them out the way :)

Neilw,

I guess you mean the stainless steel ones? Do they make any difference as I've been thinking about them also. Did you simply get the ones for the Polo GTI? Thanks.

i think everyone has had this problem if you lowered your GTI! most people just get them replaced and then tied out of the way somehow

Yeh I got the ones for the GTi (same as the mk4 16v as well), They do make a difference, not a massive ammount though. The main reason for me to get them was to protect against the rubbing.

The rear ones didnt fit, the nut on the line is too big to fit throught a hole in the rear axle.
