Mine was 50mm and rubbed slightly on the front inners,,i just lived with it as it wasnt too severe.also rubbed very slightly on fron plastics but had to be really rallying it to.

Ive got 17's on my polo aswell, ur right they look the dogs hairy b*******s!! I went to book my car in to be lowered at R-tec (good place! highly recommended for ppl in Herts), and they strongly advised me not to do it!
They said they'd love to take my money but it wasnt worth the hassle. Apparently polos have strong arches and are a bugger with rubbing. they even told me that spending money on rolling the arches might not be a good idea coz even if they were rolled it would still rub like a b***h! If u never carry passengers and u dnt mind it rubbing a fair bit on full lock then id say go for it, it will look even nicer than it does now. I woz only going to drop mine 40mm front and back aswell.....

not sure how true that is

Like i said mine was down 50mm with no arch rolling and ran it like that for ages with minimal problems..And 6nBen has them on his now lowered 60mm.

Well the story is true coz i wanted mine lowered but ddnt do it on their advice......
I woz told i would get severe rubbing with a 40mm drop. it might be coz mines a 1.4 16v 5 door and the arches might be slightly different or the extra weight might make the difference.....
I'd say go for the drop mate, just dont be suprised if u get rubbing is all!

Doesnt mean there right,,,id personally rather take the advice of someone who's done it and has friends who has.It wont be bad at all and you WONT have to roll the arches at 40mm.

I guess not, i know f**k all about lowering cars but i trusted their advice coz they are professionals. If you get no rubbing on ur 17s thats pretty damned sweet.
i just told the guy what i'd heard from these guys so he can make an informed decision, if he thinks im talking crap, which i most probably am, then thats kool, he'll go ahead with the drop and hopefully all will be well.
It'll look great, im still contemplating doing it myself. If you have friends whove lowered their polos on 17's and had no troubles then thats qulaity and worth considering. I was just giving my two cents.....
