Not the most original idea but i've decided to go for a black badge on the rear of my black GTi to match the front one, how are they attached to the boot? they easy to remove? is it possible to take it off and re-spray or would getting this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-POLO-MK4-6N2-0 ... dZViewItem be easier?

Hiya

I sprayed my front badge but bought the black ebay badge for the back. Another thing you can do (assuming your car isn't black) is colour code the dark grey plastic backing to the colour of your car - I did this and I think it looks much nicer!

The badge itself is stuck on with a sticky pad, the best way to remove is is by heating it with a hairdryer and then carefully removing it with the help of dental floss/credit card/anything plastic and thin that won't damage your paint. The new black badge will come with a plastic pad for sticking it back on.

I thought the genuine VW black badges were now obsolete, which was people had taken to painting the original silver ones?

Thats just the front ones that are obsolete as far as I know. Thats what I was told when I did mine anyway.

I managed to get my rear one off just by pulling it, came off pretty easy and didn't damage the paint at all :D

I know VAG Parts were on about getting the Black front badges made, whether they have or not I don't know but they are definately obsolete afaik.
