I want to get a standard respray done as the Red on my car has faded on the roof etc.

How much, on average is a whole car respray?

can vary mate your better off getting quotes from a few places in your area.
Why dont you just t-cut it or get some paint renovator from your VW dealer

maybe try waxing the roof to see if that restores some of the shine
