Rear wiper problems....couldn't find the answer on here yet!

My rear wiper hasn't worked for some time so i looked on here and trawled through the search function but couldn't find the answer to my particular problem.
No water comes out and the wiper doesnt move either!
I removed the boot door card thing to gain access to the rear lock coz it woz f*cked.............fixed that and have left it off so i can have a look at the wiper motor at some point!
I removed the hose from the wiper right at the back and the water comes out fine, so its pumping from the front perfectly and theres no blockages along the way. Its obvious the motor has packed up or something. Is there any way i can sort it myself or is it just a case of getting a new wiper motor fitted?
Cheers

i just fixed my one today.
I had bad water damage as the water pipe became disconected. the locks buggered and the electrics had to be cleaned.
I would advise unclipping the main black clip and cleaning it with a fine screwdriver or nail. i would presume your one is like mine. and water has leaked and messed up the electrics. Hopefuly you dont need to buy a new motor and can just clean up the circuit so it works again.
Good luck

My washer was blocked at the rear so I disconnected the pipe the put an air line on the outside which blew out some crap, works fine now. Not sure on the motor though. Just do the usual and check for power at the motor first.
Hope this helps,
Steve

Same thing happend to my rear wiper, I had a mate look at it and he had to take the motor to pieces and fix some connections inside....something like that anyway but it seems to be a common problem a few of my mates with polos have had the same problem. Either order a new motor or have someone that knows electronics look at it.

dont know if this is the same problem as mine but the washer jet on my rear doesnt seem to be working. the arm works fine and i can hear the pump working but no water comes out.
Odd thing is that some water does trickle out the front nozzles.
I was thinking that i might have a block in the tube and the water is backing up into the front jets.

@ farmio
Your pipe has a block somewhere, the pressure builds up so some get forced out the front jets. Remove the panel in side the tail gate, then disconnect the water pipe, aim it away from your car then get somebody to try the rear washer. If its like mine was then it'll spurt water out. Then the blockage is somewhere in the last part, either the jet or conections.
Cleaned my pipes too.

My newly aquired Open-Air, had this problem, her's what I did to fix it..
Firstly removed the panel on the boot lid, to gain access to the rear wash gubbins. I checked there was power to the motor, when switch is operated, with a 12V bulb and a couple of wires - A OK.
Then I pulled the pipe and water squirted out when the switch was used, so I figured it was the nozzle bit, this can be removed, under the plastic wiper blade hinge cover bit, you can see the nozzle, this can be gripped and pulled right out (pliers or teeth) be carefull not to grip the end 5mill, but get the flat sided bit below. I then put the 1&1/2 inch nozzle bit in hot water and gave it a dig with a needle, which removed a load of green crap. hey hey I can blow thro it now. Fit it all back and and we have a working "norris mc squirter". Another way of getting a wet head in the summer
