Have you ever found that your windows have lost the one touch function, or maybe you never had it from new?

To enable one touch, do the following:

Press and hold all the buttons down, when they are down, release the buttons and press the buttons 1 time up quickly.

Then hold the buttons so the windows go up again, once they are up, release and quickly press up one time and release again.

On mine if they loose the function, you need to put the window down, hold it down for 10 seconds once it's at the bottom, then raise the windows and keep the button up for 10 seconds.

Might be less, but I always do it for 10.

The windows loose their 1 touch if the battery gets disconnected.

Nope, we never got this function. The Mk5 did, so maybe you can fit the newer system to your Mk4.

I'm not a particularly gifted electrician though, so 'how' is beyond me.

You're making it so complicated. (No offence) Yes it works, but you don't have to wind the window down all the way. Here's the quick way:

Windows Up? Good!
  • 1.) Press button down for 1 second or less (doesn't matter)
2.) Pull button up until window stops
3.) Pull button up again. If you listen carefully, you'll here a relay click.
Job done!!

Note
These buttons have four positsions: Stage 1 up, stage 2 up, Stage 1 down and stage 2 down. This requires you use the 2nd stage on up and down.

This feature is normally disabled when the battery is disconnected.

Why are these windows so strange? It's like a cheat-code type thing, do this and that... :P
