Well firstly i didnt think i would of been able to make such a purchase considering the release date was only 1/2 weeks ago

I made a visit to Costco in MK today after work (as you memebers know theres a 3 yr guarantee with all items) i handed over a wedge of £400

Took a quick visit to asda too picking up a second sixaxis control pad and fall of man game

I am really impressed so far - pads charged fully in approx 2 hours, can turn the console on and off by the push of a button on me game pad 8) how cool is that?!

im liking the look of the graphics - even had my dad impressed! (on my old 28" busch widescreen tv) - maybe able to afford a HD later in the year if im lucky

Hopefully have some more games soon and maybe a blu-ray movie or two

Rich

After seeing my mates ones I can say it's worth it. It's brilliant at everything and your getting a lot for your money (remember Sony are selling them at a loss over here)

I'm in two minds over this one, because the PS3 does have a Blu-ray player it does make it worthwhile seen as a typical player now costs about £700. However as with all new technology, the price will drop and also along with this games developers haven't really harnessed the true power of the PS3 at the moment, come a few months, may be a year the price will be lower and the games better, then I think it will be a better buy then.

However if you think about it the nearest console with similar capabilities is the X-box but with this you don't get HD output and wireless and once you purchase all the extra bits, you get to a similar price to the PS3...

Because of all this, and I'm not really a regular player, I will hold out just a little longer...time will tell.

I waiting till the 20g version comes out ( only the 60g version is out at the min) and the new gta. That game will take adfvantage of all ps3's capabilities and will keep me hooked for months ! (so i dont have to go out and spend £45-£50 quid on new games every couple of weeks)

you can get upto 1080i on the 360 and a wireless adapter is only about 60 quid. combine that with a premium pack and a game for 250 quid you got yourself a hell of a console for 300 quid. The only thing is I've just been offered an unopened ps3 for 280 quid and I'm finding it hard to say no....

^^ for that money you cant say no Maxz, but thats may main problem with the PS3 is the price and Sonys atttitude toward Europe. I think this has put alot of Gamers off getting a PS3 and hence why you can walk into a shop and buy one off the shelf but Wii's were rare to come by. I dont own a Wii btw i have a 360. I also want to see what sony does with online play because hands down the xbox ruled the ps2, I curious how this generation will turn out.

i don't think European buyers have been put off too much really, Sony have sold around 600,00- PS3 across Europe in the first week and a bit!
