My Gti seems to have developed a clicking noise....Can't be the belts/tensioner as they were only recently done...

When going forward the noise gets faster as I accelerate so guessing it's something connected to wheels/driveshaft

Also in reverse the noise is more noticeable when I'm on full lock...

Any ideas?

Outer CV maybe?

Well I replaced front discs and pads today which seems to have cured the clicking noise in reverse....Discs had a bit of a lip on them but not much HOWEVER I've now noticed that the metal kinda whining noise is coming from the rear drivers side wheel...... Made sure by driving whilst hanging out of the windows down an industrial estate

Hoping it's just the brakes need a clean and it's not the brakes/bearings/hub that needs replacing
