Just thought I'd let you all know about the VAG "Blue" Sidelight bulbs both me and Nelson have fitted. They are slightly whiter and take away the yellow haze of the sidelights. About £2 each and I'd recommend them 8)

I can't capture the difference on my camera but try it for yourselves

Part Number: N 017 753 10
Price: £2.64 Retail

They can be replaced without removing the headlights  but they are a bit of a pain.

FAO Doug,

The above bulb will fit your brothers car fine, however these bulbs are capless so won't fit in a MK3.

Cheers

Neil

Has anyone got a pic of these?

I'm going to rebulb the car and I need some nice white light to come from them rather than a yellowy colour.

My brother's got a polo gti, he bought LED side lights for it. he changed them out but he had to remove most of the front end!!! surely there was an easier way!!

he was told by a VW mechanic they were a bugger to do and this proved to be the case!!

any tips for the future ??

this may be different on an mk5... im not sure. wel yesterday, i took off the plastic cover, then twisted my arm in an awkward position (because the battery was in the way) and the top light is the sidelight. simply squeeze the clips/holder thingy and pull out.

Nope not on a GTi, takes about 3/4 hour with two people when you know where everything is.
