i have recently bought a 98 polo but i am not too keen on the front and rear bumpers so i am looking at my options i am not really after a bodykit either but what i was more interesting in doing was looking for a 16v bumper for it but any way my question is:

do the 6n2 bumpers fit straight on to a 6n are do they need some mods if anyone can help please let me know lol

nope they dont. Ive never even seen anyone attempt it in my time here. I dare say with a bit of trimming they would fit. But they definately dont just go on cause theyre a different shape. The N2 bumpers extend up to underneath the rear.

i think the valver bumpers would probably be a better idea to be honest dude. Much less hastle, probably less expensive aswell.

(Bare in mind this is my un-informed imagination at worl here, not the thougths of a proffesional on the subject lol.)

I think youd probably have to shave the bits that go underneath the lights off and then maybe fibreglass over the gap and smooth with filler. Then you may have to adjust how you attach the thing. Its doubtful that all the nuts and bolts are in the same place (though ive never held a N2 bumper so not 100% on that). You also have to consider whether or not the arches will allign. Im fairly confident that the angles and that would all be correct. Dont think the N2 had different arches.. or where they a bit more flared... i should really look..

*runs off*

and google allows us this comparison:
Not the best pcis in the world but hopefully you catch my drift.

EDIT: christ this first pic was huge two secs ago. Ive dumbed it down on photoshop. Cause i am a photchopping wizard *cough*

i think the rear would be a bit less owrk, but i would assume it would have different lines towards the arches and rear quarter panels etc.

The front however would be a huge amount of work! Completely different shape!

Just source yourself 16v bumpers mate! Defo the best look for the mk4! :D
