I drive a 1995 Polo 6n with the boring 1.3 wannebe-I engine. Bought it about a year and a half ago from my grandfather for as little as €1000 and it had 14.500km's (now 30k) or so on the clock. So I really can't complain about that.

Where to start?

- Styling/16V front and rear bumpers
- FK Powerlook black headlights
- 6500k Xenon
- US-style turnsignals
- Matching LED as sidelight
- Logo-free grill
- Smoked rear lights
- Removed the back wiper
- Bosch Aerotwins in front
- 15" alloys (Enzo H) with 195/45 Firestone Firehawk tires
- Central armrest
- Golf 3 cabrio front seats
- Sony GT300 headunit
- JBL GTO-755.6 6 channel amp (4x60w RMS + 1x 300w RMS bridged)
- JBL GTO-606Ce 16.5cm Compo set 70w RMS
- JBL GTO-936 6x9 speakers 100w RMS
- JBL GTO 1002D 25cm subwoofer 250w RMS
- 1F condensator
- Remote locking, with original VW springkeys.







Stealthed rear-speakers since I don't like audio porn, this was a lot of work and the original board is reenforced with 8mm MDF. (here you also see the damage on the bumper from when I got rearended)

As you might see in these pics I've also made a flat trunk buttom. And dressed everything with adhesif carpet, the carpet costs a little but it's well worth it. Really easy to work with.

Plans?
- Lowering it!
- Maybe some engine and exhaust work (little like Jarno did)

The bad days of the polo:
- Windscreen got smashed
- Right sidewindow got smased
- Got rearended
Insurance payed everything.

This is a rather slow project since I'm still a student, as of the 1st of August that ends.

Tips, hints, remarques, ... are allways welcome.

Lets not start a thread about student life suckage. We will all be here for a very long time lol.

I too know that sting all to well. Nearly a year gone now and my driver side window still doesnt work.

The shelf, it's really not that hard but it take a lot of time and patience.
I've cut 2 oversized squares in the original one, and cut exact holes in the 8mm MDF-plate for the speakers. Also grinded out i think 2mm in the mdf so that the speakers rest a little lower and screwed the plate with the speakers in it directly to the stockboard. (screwed them like grandfathers do, a lot of screws )
This way they rest almost equal with the stock board and you can get carpet over it. The carpet comes with an allready sticky side, got them at a professional car-interiour shop. Costs about €18 for a piece of 1m x 1.6m, a lot compared to what you can get at normal carshops but well worth it. Then it's just slowely putting the carpet on it and piece by piece. For the little ditches and so you need a sharp knife (I used a scalpel for it, but a good boardcutter will also do it) to make a little incision in the carpet so you can press it down and follow the form of the board. I think it took about 45minutes to carpet the thing.


JowG07, not really fond of darkened windows. Because we can't do them all here, the front ones have to stay clear so that looks silly on a 5 door...

Ja f****d up he, maar ook al houden mensen hun mond, ideen komen toch uit, dat blijkt maar weer met het "Dirk-incident"

Saturday morning it's going in for a quick adjustment to the gearlinkingsystem. Having trouble with downshifting from 5th to 4th and from 4th to 3rd, just don't want to go into gear unless I blip the throttle. Guess I'll have to learn how to heel'n toe properly.

That one is solved. Next problem, the horn is busted and it isn't the little 10A thingie that I don't know the name of
