Hi all,
Got a BMC CDA the other day, but unfortunately I have no instructions for it.
I need to know how to clean the filter out mostly plus some other random bits.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Alex

I'm sure the BMC filter element is washable, and they also do a kit for washing and re-oiling the element.

Alright, the instructions say it's for the BMC panel filter, but I'm sure it's the same for the CDA's element.
Are you using the clublupo guide to fit your CDA?

I was thinking about it. Not sure how im gonna do it yet - i want the engine cover to stay in place, so i was trying to source a 16V cover as they had space for a BMC style air filter. Any suggestions?

Just out of interest why do want to keep the engine cover?
Only problem I can see with the GTi engine cover is it might require some modification to get it to match up the the fixing holes on the block.

Ye thats what i was thinking. I dunno, i just think it looks better to be honest - the cover just adds that finishing touch to the top of the engine
Still cant work out how to wash the filter out tho

I used to have the engine cover over my BMC, but it used to rattle a fair bit against the BMC itself and the crankcase breather filter.
In terms of cleaning, what I've tended to do in the past is remove the filter bit from the airbox and literally, just brush all the crap and anything else that's inside off it.

Ahh gd i see. Well ill give it a shot. Just got a copy of the manual emailed to me from customer support @ BMC.
Have you never washed the filter then - supposedly its washable?

I think there are screws around the top of the CDA box to get the filter out IIRC. BMC put a cleaning guide for their filters on their site; can't remember where it was, but i'm linking to it from this page on my site anyway...

ahh much appreciated! You wouldnt by any chance happen to sell or be able to sell the hose, right angle elbow, and reducers for the kits would you - unfortunately, all I have is the BMC CDA itself
