hi my name is matt and not long owned an X reg 1.0ltr polo...

my situation is this... although not very nice!!!

when i put key in ignition and turn round to start i get NO pre-ignition lights of any sort and my engin dont even ant to turn on...

any sugestions from you lot out there? im confused!! i have tryed new batt, alt, conections, eveythin and the damn car still WONT start!!!!!!!!

Please please help me if ANY of you can i get down on my knees and beg you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds to me like it could be a faulty ignition switch at the base of the ignition barrel maybe? this happened to mine when i had it and it was fixed under warranty!

do u have a lot of keys/keyrings hanging on your carkey? i did and this caused mine to break!

I'd guess you'd need to check the car has power first (check lights etc.), then the ignition switch. I'm not sure what fuses or relays the ignition system uses. Try a haynes manual or even the manual that comes with the car.

check the fuses mate the ones on top of the battery!

ok i have checked everything, lights (outside) all work, all the fuses are all ok inside and ontop of the battery, as i say i no its not the battery as its a new one and i have lights.

no all i have on my keyring is the car key, alarm fob, and 2 house keys.

still not starting

Have you got power to the radio/ interior lights?
