Ok guys, i have had an offer on some alloy wheels.
Set of 16's of a Toyota, going to see them tomorrow.
They are 5 stud like my polo so i am gonna see if they will fit.

Not sure what they look like yet either lol!.

all i really wanted to know was what size tyres would i need on it to match the size of my wheels.

i dont know that the measurements are of the toyota rims but you will need a 5 x 100 pcd and offset around or about 38, will be ok a few mm either way i would imagine, remember, the lower the offset number the further out they will sit etc

my 16" gti wheels run 205 x 45 x 16

195/45/16's work aswell.

As far as I know there are some Toyota rims would fit Polo's. But make sure that you can get spiggot rings for them mate, as Toyota's have a larger bore than Polo's.

Also some may have a very high offset like ET46-50 which may not be suitable.

As for tyres, if your planning to lower i'd recommend: 195/45/16, 195/40/16, or 205/40/16s

Mine were made for a Toyota and the centre bore was smaller than the Polo's 57.1mm which suprised me. The wheels were made in 1993-94. So I got them machined out. It cost me £40 from a local engineering place my dad often uses. Been on a couple of months and no problems so far.

I am still wanting the BBS m8, i just cannot afford them.

Had this full set offered to me without tyres for £40.
They are a year old, guy wanted bigger on his car.

Anyway, i am going round in a bit to have a look at them, will get some pics and some numbers if i can.

Sort of the design i have been looking for.
Excuse the size of the tyres, its quite decieving. He put it on to see if it would go on his fiat van. But it wouldnt fit so the tyre is coming off tomorrow.

Not bad at all for a set of £40 rims. Being aftermarket rims, as long as the offset and stud pattern are the same they will fit.

The wheels should have stamped in side it 5x100pcd, and a number followed by the letters 'ET'. if this is 30-40 it should be fine so long as the PCD is 5x100. The bore appears to look big, so you'll need to buy spiggot rings for em.

never been one for changing alloys before, so i have no idea what to do lol!

He is gonna get that huge tyre off it for me tomorrow anyway, so i can have a closer inspection. just going to take my wheel off then and see if the stud pattern is the same.

lol. yeah just remove one of the front wheels, bolt it on by hand and try to spin it. If it catches the brake caliper it just won't move - so you'll know its a too high offset straightaway. As long as it sits inline or roughly under the arch (but not too much) its fine.

well when i have a play tomorrow evening i will be able to get some more pics. i hope they do fit lol!

all those sizes are too small ideally and will put your speedo out. as a couple of others have said you want the 205 x 45 x 16s as a first choice.

Thanks, is there a way i can know for sure what size i need? or do i just trust u guys lol

205x45x15 is the right size as this is what they fit to their own 16 inch alloys as on my gti

other sizes will fit but will make the speedo reading less accurate
