Rear speakers

I have a 2002 1.4S and i am just wondering about the rear speakers. Should there be rear speakers fitted?
there is no sound from the rear, but there is a speaker 'grill' each side if you get what i mean. like the front of a speaker.
Should these come wired as standard?

the grills dont actualy have holes in them and there arnt speakers in there, but you can get new grills and speaker pods to fit them
not sure what part numbers you need or how much they are though

OR
you could just go mad n foget ordering parts - take a jigsaw cut a hole, make some mounting rings from mdf. put the two together big bang bosh

I have posted about this many a time and put up part numbers etc of what you need to do.
this subject has been coverd lots of times. check this part of the forum out, the ICE part of the forum out and possibly the "electrical" part of the forum.

my E had the grilles but no speakers and i'v just had some poineers put in for me

good idea abot the mdf but id get the grills from vw so looks nice and pritty lol
