im running 16x7 inch wheels on my polo and at the moment they are wrapped in Uniroyal Rainsport tyres 195/45 R16
i cant fault the uniroyals they have been a really great tyre but i can feel when im driving that they need replacing!!
there is also the fact that i want to go to 40 profile tyres, but uniroyal dont make my tyres in 40's
so my question is what tyres would everybody recomend??
i have been looking at toyo tr1's 195/40/16
are these any good and would they fit?
any help would be great!

If money is no object, I recommend Continental SportContact 2's or Pirelli P-Zero Nero's. Also, Yokohama do their S.drive tyres in 195/40/16.
I had Toyo's on my old 16's and I had no complaints with them.

I've got Dunlop SP9000's in 195/40/16.
Never been 100% happy with them, partly wish I'd gone for something else. But then this is in comparison to Yoko AVS Sports on my old 15s which were pretty amazing.
I can't see you having a problem with the Toyo's, they haven't built up their reputation for nothing I would guess.

http://www.mytyres.co.uk have got Toyo T1-Rs for £53.50 delivered, that doesn't include fitting however.
http://www.blackcircles.com can do T1-Rs for £79.95 fitted, bit over your budget I realise, but that does include them being fully fitted.
And finally
http://www.kwik-fit.com have an offer on Continental tyres at the minute, so 4x Conti-Sport Contact 2 fully fitted would be £349. Again bit more than you're looking to spend really.
195/40/16 are a pain to find cheaply with them being such a rare size. I ended up paying around £300 for my Dunlops from my local tyre place, turned out to be cheaper than anywhere online.

I prefer my Goodyear Eagle F1's to the Toyo's I had, the grip in the dry seems never ending, I haven't really pushed them in the wet though so can't comment on that.
