Overriding My Immobiliser/Hidden Utility Button

Oreet, Does anyone know how to override an immobiliser?
I have a standard logic 600 on my '98 Polo, and ther batteries in the fob are dying so it hardly works anymore and I can't get new batteries for a while so I really could do with shutting down the immobiliser system. I've tried disconnecting the wire from the battery, it worked, there was no response when I pressed the button on the fob but it wouldn't let me turn my ignition on, which obviously doesn't really solve anything
lol. Apparently there's a "valet mode" I can set it too which turns the immobiliser function off comepletely, but I have to find some hidden utility button, does anyone know where this is?
Any advice would be muchos appreciated.
