Does anyone know where i could source a cheap replacement canvas roof with all supporting parts etc?

I've tried dealers and they are very expensive and breakers tend not to have any in stock....

Thanks,

Chris

Welcome to the site. Welcome to the number one problem with owning an awesome car.

I ahve the same problem. Has yours cracked at the back on the first fold aswell? This seems to be a common thing. Open airs themselves dont seem to be common enough for anyone to have publicy come up with a solution.

There is a guy on club-polo called souf polo whose girl has an open air and last time i saw him they ahd just had the roof re-done for 200 quid. Before that hh had these glued on patch things as a means to stop the leak and await a roof replacement.

Out of interest how much did veedub quote you? lol.

On a side note my name is also chris and the first letter of my last name is p. Are you impersonating em or what blud?

Hey welcome fellow openair, mine has the splits on the first fold at the rear, ive put the little rubber cable sleeves at the bend pointre glued the fold, then applied back to black (Autoglym) wich has restored the colour, flexibility and improved water resistance. im now tempted to fill the little splits / holes with black silicone mastic stuff. I have underground parking so its not urgent.
Ive had a search for replacements too but none found easily.
You might want to check the back pages of Volksworld or similar Polo owners mag.
Might be a neich market there, as I see quite a few openairs around seen 4 just on the IOW.
Ho ho happy burnt forhead :-)
